I’m beginning a new photoblog

Hi, this is Aeryn. And I’m starting something new.

I have been faffing around for a loooong while now to find the best way I can publish my photography.

I’ve tried various website platforms, photo sharing social networks, blogging platforms, and I don’t know what else.

It all began just before the advent of Flickr. And when that came along it was sooo magical.

Back then I was trying to hand code my own website and it was hard. I didn't like it. But Flickr was the answer. Until.. well, never mind.

Anyway, fast forward 20 years and here I am, again. I have tried some really good options in recent months. But they’re not quite right for me.

I want this to last. And I want it to work.

I want it to be easy.

I want to claim a space on a pristine part of the web. And keep it pristine.

So.

Here’s a few notes about this photoblog as I get going. And I will add some more notes along the way at some point.

This blog is hosted by the Bear Blog platform. Which provides a fast loading and tracking-free experience for readers.
And it’s super easy for me to publish on.
I don’t plan to promote, or make a business out of anything going on here. I’m not selling anything.
- Nothing wrong with any of this, it’s just not a priority for me.
- I’m just here to share. And be in community with other creators.
I do not have a name for the photoblog yet. I am thinking one up, but I want it to be a bit more interesting than “A Photoblog by Aeryn”.
I have sketched out a structure for posting. It makes sense to me. Not sure it will to others.
Because, the idea is that I will be publishing here on two levels-
- frequent-ish posts from my daily photography that I want to syndicate out to the socials, as well as
- albums: collections of images and related materials.
I will be updating the look and feel of the photoblog as I go along. Maybe the structure too.
I’ve chosen the Bearming Theme to get me started. Thanks to Robert for kindly creating it and making it free to use.
